Jeff started his career in the steel industry from 1970 to 1974 while still in high school preparing shop and field drawings for his uncles fabrication shop. From 1974 to 1980, as he was continuing his education in business management / market development and structural engineering, he worked for the CECO Corporation (manufacturer of pre-engineered metal buildings). Jeff was responsible for drafting, estimating and sales.
After graduation in 1981, he was recruited by an international construction company in Muskogee, OK. His employment involved radio tower inspection, general construction management, estimating and sales. The obligations of his position required him to travel extensively around the world and away from family for sometimes months at a time. With the need to be at home on a more frequent basis, he went back to work for CECO as District Sales Manager for the southwest region from 1986 to 1989. In 1990, Jeff was offered a position with a current competitor of Equus as Sales and Estimating Manager as well as drafting coordinator.
In 2007, Jeff joined our Equus team as Sales Manager/Estimator in order to establish a structural steel division. This has become an integral part of Equus Metals. At Equus, he wears many hats. One is negotiation of product sales, estimating fabrication and installation costs and overseeing all facets of final sold projects. Jeff works very closely with our clients on cost effective ideas and alternatives to complete and satisfy their needs. Jeff also has a great reputation, and works well, with our customers, Architects and Engineers on every project. Every project he undertakes is of great importance to him and will do whatever is necessary to satisfy our customers.
